Overview
Your adventure commences with an exhilarating jet boat adventure up the famous Dart River, through the shallow braided river channels and deep into the World Heritage area of Mt. Aspiring National Park. Hang on tight as we race along, taking in the spectacular surrounding scenery.
After this ultimate rush, it's time to jump aboard our unique 'Funyak' inflatable canoes and paddle (or drift!) for 2 hours downstream. Along the way explore the magical hidden side streams with their deep emerald green pools, ancient native forest waterfalls and marvel at the sky piercing mountain peaks. It really is a spectacular area of New Zealand that can't be missed!
Next, we board our bus for a back-road glacial valley drive. Learn about the history and developments of this area whilst taking in scenery that you have to see to believe it. Along the way back we stop at various locations used in the film "Lord of the Rings." We then arrive back in Queenstown after an adventure filled day to remember!

The Dart River is located within the Mount Aspiring National Park, north west of Queenstown, South Island. Complementary shuttle from Queenstown is provided with informative commentary and photo stop en-route to Glenorchy. Exact meeting point and supplier's details are provided immediately after booking.
Additional Info
- This trip is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. No experience is required however a degree of mobility is essential. Minimum age is 5 years (child rates apply to those aged 5 - 15 years old).
- During the day a delicious wilderness buffet lunch and refreshments are provided.
- Numbers on the day: The number on each tour are restricted to small groups with each tour being fully guided.
- Session length: This is a full day experience - allow 9 hours for the whole trip. The jet boat ride is 1 hour and 15 minutes. The canoe trip will take approximately 2 hours and the valley drive will last for 40 minutes.
Changes and Cancellations Policy
The cancellation policy for this activity is as follows:
- Cancellations notified 30 days or more prior to activity date » full refund is given by activity supplier;
- Cancellations notified 8 days or more (but less than 30 days) prior to activity date » 50% refund is given by activity supplier;
- Cancellations notified less than 8 days prior to activity date » no refund is given by activity supplier.
If you do not attend at the agreed date, time and place you may not be entitled to any refund by the activity supplier.
